S. L. Bhyrappa

S. L. Bhyrappa (Santeshivara Lingannaiah Bhyrappa) (Santeshivara Lingannaiah Bhyrappa) (August 20, 1931 – September 24, 2025) was one of the leading figures in Kannada literature. He was a writer, novelist, critic, and screenwriter. His writing does not fit into any particular movement in modern Kannada literature, such as Navodaya, Navya, Bandaya, or Dalit. He wrote works concerned with philosophy and metaphysics, with an aesthetic rooted in realism and naturalism.
